Will it work on Windows 11?+
Yes. HistoryKill is tested on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11. The current build (HistoryKill 2022) was released August 2021 and works on every Windows version since.
Is there a Mac or Linux version?+
Not yet. HistoryKill is Windows-only today. If you want to be notified when we ship a Mac build, email support@trustsoft.com.
How is this different from clearing browser history?+
Clearing history removes about six categories of data inside your browser. HistoryKill removes 47+ — including DNS cache, third-party cookies, autocomplete entries, registry entries, recent-document lists, and free-space residue that even disk wiping leaves behind.
Does it slow down my computer?+
It's ~5 MB. It runs on demand or on shutdown. When it's not running, it consumes zero memory and zero CPU.
